Ryuken was now a fair distance away. He couldn't be sensed, but his eyes were still on Seika, to see how she'd start to react. He found that it was this that was one of the funnest parts of his job.

Seika spun her naginata silently over her elbow so that she was now holding a part of the staff that was closest to the blade. She quickly wrapped the cloth around it.

At that point, both the emperor and Jakitsu awoke. "What a strange sleep that was." Jakitsu nodded. "I didn't even feel all that tired."

Alexie got up. He was silent about hearing any of the conversating because he know Ryken was watching. "Priestess did you get any sleep?"

Seika didn't respond, but her head was lowered. Her naginata lay on the ground next to her, and she seemed to be staring off into the distance.

Ryuken simply grinned at her from the distance. He knew that they couldn't see him, though he could see them.

Seika stared off the edge of a cliff, where the sun was just rising. She stood up. "Let's get going; we can travel a little more if we leave earlier," she said, picking up her naginata.

Jakitsu got up. "Let's go priestess."
Ryuken smirked. Fly away little bird. Try to outrun death.

Seika strapped the makeshift sleeping bag and her naginata to her horse, then mounted it. She sighed, then gave the reins a shake, heading off towards the next village.
